Prayer is a beautiful, as well as essential, way to ask for Our Lord’s help and blessings. Even when God doesn’t answer our prayers as we’d like, He gives us the grace to cope with our problems and tragedies better in any case.

Don’t think that any request is too small! Our Lord Himself said “ask, and you shall receive” (John 16:24). Your requests become that much more powerful when others are praying for you as well. Also, it is a truly divine form of charity to pray for others, especially for those most in need!

As Pope Gregory the Great once wrote “He causes his prayers to be of more avail to himself who offers them also for others.” In other words, as our Lord said in Luke’s Gospel “Give and it shall be given to you” (Luke 6:38). And, as a popular saying goes “God cannot be outdone in generosity!”

“Pray for one another, that you may be healed” (James 5:16)

I was divorced several years ago, 11. My husband left me. I haven't seen him since, not even during the divorce proceedings. I am now a Christian. He is not. I am now in RCIA. He is re-married. I pray for the courage to recall my past with clarity, honesty and God's will. I am in denial about my abuse and I need a house because I am homeless. Please pray that God will protect my son Jonatan. At the age of 2 he lost his Father and 10 years ago he lost his brother, both of them in a car accident. All his life he has been struggling with the loss of his Father and his brother. After 5 1/2 years of struggle finally, praise the Lord, he got sober and he has been sober for 4 1/2 years. He has two jobs; one is a social worker. He is helping people with AIDS and addiction and he is taking some classes at night. After all the years of struggling he got into some problems with the law for drinking and driving. After living here for 22 years, he decided to become a citizen and apply for his papers. On December 3rd he needs to go to Emigration but the Lawyer is talking that maybe we will be in jail until the process with emigration is over or until the Government decides to remove his status of resident and reported. Please pray that God will protect Him.

My Dear Lord, thank you for the grace of forgivness and compassion. I feel so sad and hurt for my girlfriend Veronica leaving the way she did. At first I felt anger, bitterness, betrayal, and vengeful. Now I only feel sadness and compassion for her. I wish her well. Lord please protect her and Bless her. Dear Lord and St. Jude, I have cried and prayed to you many nights to bring my Danny back into my life. However, I have come to the realization and acceptance that you took him away for a reason. I pray to you that you bring him back to me only if you see that we can both benefit from being together and that if he does not, you grant me the courage and strength to move on. I thank You Lord that I finally got the promotion I was waiting for for a long time. I now pray through the Blessed Virgin Mary that my next job posting will provide me with effective managerial responsibilities, a substantial supervisory role and decision making responsibilities to enable me to strengthen my career. I have been blessed with an almost 8 year relationship. But I was so busy, trying to be successful with my career, that I did not realize how much I was not able to appreciate him in my life. Now that he decided to leave, I regret my shortcomings. I am writing this mail with a very heavy heart & pain. Pls excuse me if I am doing wrong. I am H Srinivasa residing at Mathikere, Bangalore, India. I am a normal devotee. Sir I & my family (myself H Srinivasan, my wife Sharada & my daughter Geetha) are in deep trouble, i.e., by my father asking us to vacate the house. In fact I personally nor my family has any grudge against any of their family members. We were really happy family with whatever we were earning. In fact my brother’s family is jealous of us since we were living a good living all with grace of the Lord. My father an ex-service man from the Air Force who is aged about 86 yrs has a property 30 x 40 site in which he has constructed two houses. After my marriage we were separated for almost 25 yrs, by the grace of the Lord. Just 3 yrs. back he called us back telling that a portion which was rented has got vacated and that if I liked I can accommodate in that house. In the other house my father along with my brother H Krishnamurthy, his wife Satyawati, son Asharay are residing. My brother's wife is a very jealous, in fact a poisonous, lady. She has managed to brainwash my father for selling the property (on asking some astrologer they said that she has given him to eat something which was mixed with cruel poisonous stuff for changing intentions). She is such a lady that she created a problem for water in the house & even today she & my brother are continuously mentally torturing & harassing us by passing unwarranted remarks, shutting the doors on our face whenever we pass by. It is this courtesy of this lady that we are almost on the street today & begging for a rented house with others. I am not sure where this will end. In fact we have made up our intention to go in for a suicide pact & let them enjoy the future life. Now my father is bent upon selling the property, come what may. I am not going to budge to anybody is his present attitude. On 1st Nov 2008 he came & knocked our house door and said that he is selling the property & that I should vacate the place. In a fit of rage, anger I told him what does he mean by asking us to vacate the place. For that he said that he has an alternate and later telling me that I don't deserve it. I now request you to place a prayer at the Lord’s feet so that my father & my brother's family changes or reverses his decision or his mind & asks us to continue in the same small house. Since 1 Nov 08 my family is hell, upset on these developments, - undergoing endless mental torture (we are not able to pray, eat or sleep). Beside my father at this ripe age weather he is doing the right or wrong I don't know. One thing for sure I know is that my brother’s family after getting the money will ditch him. I don't want this to happen. My prayer is that let good sense prevail on my father, & my brother's family & let the Lord give him good sense & mind to reverse the present thought of selling & retain us in the same place. PRESENTLY MY FAMILY'S LIFE IS IN RUINS. Sir could your good selves guide me on our future? Sir I am also 55 yrs of age with a meager earning of Rs. 12,000 pm, my daughter is also 21, my wife has BP, for all practical purposes it would become difficult for me to stay in a rented house - pay rent, take a loan for marriage, repayment, stuff like that. Literally speaking I am not having any money with me. Even to pay advance for a rented house I have to borrow money with outside sources. It would become really difficult to lead a simple life. In fact we were going in for a suicide pact. We are really messed up. We still hope the Lord will listen to our voice & grace his solace on us. Pls help us by placing this prayer request at the Lord’s lotus feet. Kindly help us so that our prayer reaches the Lord. My prayer is that let good sense prevail on my father, & my brother's family & let the Lord give him good sense & mind to reverse the present thought of selling & retain us in the same place. I am asking for prayers for my husband to feel better about himself and for him and his famliy to come back together. We have been married for 27 years and his family has never liked me except for his Father who has been gone now for 20 years. He is an only boy and the youngest. Greed has taken over his family and it is tearing him up. He is a vey well liked person in our community and would do anything for any body. HE works hard at farming, in town part time, and wherever else he can. I pray for him that his life can be easier. He suffers from arthritis in his hips so he is in pain a lot. I pray for his health and happiness and that his family will come to see the wonderful person he is. We do not have the money they all do and never will, but the love we share makes up for all that. Also, please pray for my daughter Natalie. She is 12 years old, and seems to have an anti-social personality. She does not respect our parental authority and fights (verbally) with her mom and me constantly and viciously. She always wants to do things we tell her she can't do. She demands to know why, and when we give her the reason, she replies "that is not a reason." She is now living with her grandmother since she simply does not seem to have feelings for her mother or me, and chooses to fight constantly with us and her 4 siblings. I want to thank the Lord for His ever amazing Love He has poured for each one of us. I want to thank Him for the many things He has done, for which I know I couldn't thank Him enough. Each day, I'm so blessed for everything He has made, especially for my family and me. I pray for peace and love in the world as well as my family & friends. I pray for security. Our Lady of Perpetual help, I know I am not deserving of your help and prayers. I ask for a miracle however. I said some awful things to my friend Warren that I cannot take back as I sent them via txt messages. They were hurtful things. I believe he will never talk to me again. I got so angry with him. Now I know I pushed him away. If you have any miracles to give to me, please let him forgive me. I have been praying for long that we find our way back to each other and now I pushed him further away. By tomorrow, it will be all over. I lost so many people in my life the last two months. I have had so much stress in my life the last few weeks. My Dad had a heart attack yesterday and is in the hospital. My Mom is alone. I pray he makes a full recovery. I know I am asking a lot for a miracle with these two major stressors right now but I promise to do better on earth. Please just help me. I do love him and we have been apart for 2 yrs. I find joy and contentment in his presence and no matter what the decision I will continue to work with his daughter for her to be successful in life. Please I ask your intercession Blessed Mother for my struggles to cease, for I have lived with them for so many years, and the light doesn't seem to be coming. I ask for my son to be blessed with more confidence and that his new employer keep him permanent, for he is a young boy who has overcome emotional struggles and he has no friends except for me. He is a good soul and kindhearted. This job is such wonderful therapy, and he is becoming happy. For once I ask for this special blessing for him and for my Daniel to return to me heart soul and mind, for we have been apart and I know we are soul mates and he knows it too. Please I ask Blessed Mother for him to be given the strength and Courage to return, and that his love for me takes over his heart, and my angels assist to show him the path of return for reuniting. Please flood his heart soul and mind with thoughts of me and the differences will be worked out, for stubborness keeps us apart. Please show him a sign, for my unhappiness has been for too long. I ask for my daughter to be blessed with compassion and patience and love in her heart, and that her sharp tongue be taken away and love for her family re-enter her heart. St. Jude, St. Therese, Our Lady of Perpetual Help I had an awful day yesterday. I lost Warren. Nothing has been going right and I feel so awful inside. I've been praying for things in my life to get better and they get worse. I txt Warren yesterday with nasty emails and now he will never consider talking to me again. He has hurt me emotionally to but this is beyond repair. I lost hope, faith and feel there is no visible sign anything will get better. There is no one to help me as I know prayer was my last resort and prayer failed me again. I know I'm not worthy of your love and miracles and prayers. I hope one day I can be. Sorry I am such a big disappointment. I was trying so hard to get my life back together. It's been so stressful and I have no help or support. I really messed up and this mess I created is unrepairable. I wish I could take yesterday back but I can and I am the root of all evil in my life. Dear God, I am sorry if I sinned by doubting You. I did not mean to. But I am so heartbroken that I did not know what to do. Please forgive me. If I have done any other sin, and I am sure I have, forgive me for those too, and teach me how ask forgiveness from people I have hurt. And above all let me not be angry with people who hurt me, and forgive them always. I have been praying for a miracle for a long long time now. I initially was afraid that whether it was Your will or not and prayed if it wasn't to make it Your will. And then when I got the signs and the reading the other day, I realised it was Your will. I had always told you if miracle does not happen, I will not complain, because maybe I don't deserve it and deserve a life of loneliness. I cannot break my promise to anyone God, and hence I begged You and when I got the signs I knew You were listening. I especially believe in the rose after St Therese's novena and then the reading. So I am assuming that what I am asking is God's will. God it's true I dont know how to pray. I always treated God as my best friend and spoke like that. But I learned it. I learned how to pray in the last few months. I learned that people can be selfless and pray for each other and then God listens, because I see miracles happening daily. Whenever I lost hope, You gave me signs to say "hang in I am working", but I am still scared. God, I know You do things in Your own time, but I don't want to hurt people and hence the urgency. I believe God listens, but my doubt is that whether mine will be heard. I don't doubt God can do it but I wonder whether mine will be done. I have got signs whenever I asked for, but I ask were they right God. No matter what your decision I promise You I will always love You and I thank You for taking care of me always. Dear God, you are bigger than the storm. Then why is the storm still there. You can move anything. Then why is this mountain still there. You never lie. Then why are none of the signs leading me to a final miracle. You always want people to do the right thing. Then why does it look like I will end up doing something wrong for no fault of mine, but because the universe will do that. You always prevent bad things from happening. Then why is this calamity not being stopped when it's in the hands of humans. You always listen to earnest prayers. Then why are my prayers meeting roadblocks. God, I TRUST YOU BLINDLY. But the outcomes seem so negative that I am scared. All the signs say this will happen, but all seem to hit a roadblock. Wrong intentions are winning, and when I am trying to set things right for all, I am hitting only roadblocks. Why God? I still believe You can make this miracle happen. IF YOU WANT AND I BELIEVE YOU WANT. So with that faith I beg of You, grant me the miracle asap and don't let this storm let me lose. I heard fasting makes you happy. Please pray for my family. We are having financial difficulties. I had a grand mal seizure Dec. 2007. Then I was fired from my job because of it. I need prayer, dear Lord. The reason I had the seizure was because I had a massive brain hemorrhage 5 days after my second son was born. You saved me from that scare. I function perfectly fine now other than the seizures and the meds they have me on $219 a month. I feel damaged dear God, not good enough. I have faith, a lot of faith. I’m just having a hard time with this now. Please, if anyone reads this, pray for me. I need so bad. I talk to God, I pray, I go to church. I know it's a test and I understand that, but I have two boys to worry about. I cannot be broke raising two children. I am an oil field worker. I have no set schedule. I am on call 24-7 and maybe gone from my family (3yr & 8yr-old sons and my wife) for weeks at a time. I am a person that loves my family and it tears me up each and everytime I have to leave for work. I am praying that I get a job that would have me home every day to see my family and I would not have to live with my cell phone on my side 24-7 even when I sleep. Dear God, I read God never lies. I read don't sin by doubting God. I read God is bigger than any storm and to tell the storm I have God. I read God listens when you ask earnestly. I read when you see the signs, it means God is answering. AND I BELIEVED IN ALL OF THEM. THEN WHY THIS GOD??? I saw the rose after St. Therese's novena every time I have done it. Hello brothers and sisters in Christ. Please pray for me I have bad pain in the kidney, liver area and across my stomach. I went to the emergency. I was given an ultrasound, MRI and blood level test. The Doctors say that it might be inflamed. I have a history of drug use and I have done so much damage to my body. Yet I still didn’t learn and I must confess took about 14 pills of tramadol knowing that my liver is inflamed. There have been times where the reason I have self medicated myself on drugs not prescribed as well as illegal drugs is because I can’t seem to get rid of my depression. Sometimes I think that I’m hopeless and I think sincerely God is tired of me. There is no excuse for what I have done. I am no victim but an irresponsible sinner who does not have the strength to put my life in order. Sometimes I wonder why do I even bother staying alive. Jesus said there is a sin that leads unto death. I think I have committed every possible sin including blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. I don’t know what to do. I feel like a sitting duck just waiting for God to eliminate me. I am not worthy to live. No matter how hard I try I always wind up in even worse predicaments. I don’t think there is a greater hell than the one I have created myself. I’m not looking for sympathy but for some ounce of mercy in spite of being almost worthless. I don’t know what to do. I am afraid and always torturing myself. Please pray that somehow some way God will have mercy on me. Pray that I may not consume his goodness on my evil ways. Please pray for mercy from God or I am going to die. All I want is peace but I guess I’m too stupid to value it. Now I stand with the possible prospect of hell. I ask for divine intervention for I truly believe with God all things are possible and have witnessed miracles. In spite of all this I keep sinning. I’m not sure why I sin perhaps subconsciously I don’t see a way out. I deserve hell a million times. I’m a mess and my strength is fading. I am guilty of all the offences towards God but somehow I still hope that he may extend his arm to this worthless sinner. Again I don’t need sympathy but mercy. Pray to the mother of God, for sometimes I think even she doesn’t want to deal with me. My sins stink into high heaven but still I hope. Pray, pray, pray, preferably in groups. I am confused and on the verge of destruction. If reincarnation were to be true I must have been Hitler in my previous life. Please accept this confession. I am too stained with sin that I’m unworthy to even dare to pray to God. I hope he listens to you..help me..please help me. Emilio.

I am in a very difficult situation. I am working in the country of Georgia and the company that sent me here is unable to pay my salary or expenses for 2 months. This has left me in a very desperate situation. Another company is supposed to tell me in a few days about a new job. I have been praying to our Lord, St. Jude, and the Blessed Mother for help. I have a 24 year old younger sister named Maria, who’s been in the hospital for over almost two months now. She was diagnosed with meningitis, and although has gotten all treatments possible and available, nothing has helped and she very rapidly got much worse instead of better. The family has been faced with the hardest decision ever as she is in a vegetative state. Today we are removing her respirator, and I pray that God give us all the strength to survive this tragic and so painful process. I pray that she knows how very much she is loved by all and that her big sister always adores her. I have 4 younger sisters in all, but she is my most special friend. We live in different states, but were always together on the phone, laughing and crying together and just being silly. I've missed our talks so much these past two months. My mom is heartbroken. This was just so sudden and unexpected. My husband and I are the God-parents of her two beautiful children (ages 4 and 2), and they are with us now with our two other children. They ask for her all the time and I pray for the knowledge on what to say to them. I pray that they may know how she loved them so much and all she did as a single parent was to love them. I just pray that God give us the strength to get through this, because it hurts so much right now. I know we shouldn't question God with why this has happened but it’s really hard to accept. My mom asked me not to come down today to the hospital today because of the 4 kids and I can only hope that even though I'm not there to hold her hand she knows I love her. I pray for peace in knowing that I missed her last phone call. I knew she was ill, but we thought it just a cold. She tried calling me on my house phone twice from the hospital and left messages but we were away for a family trip to my husband's family and I never got to talk to her, and that hurts me so deeply. I want to thank you Lord for all your blessings, for my family, my 2 kids, my husband, my parents, my in laws, our house, health and good job. You have always been a generous, patient and ever-loving father to me, in spite of my weaknesses, sins, and pains I have caused you. Lord, I was deeply happy when you offered me a high paying job in Jun 2008. You saved me from my previous job which had changed my personality due to so much stress and had affected my family. Thanks for rescuing and saving me. After almost 5 months, the global economic crisis started. I thought my new job is in trouble and I started looking for a job again. I was very lucky to find and was offered a new job in 2 weeks. I know you where with me during my interviews. Thank you so much! However, I became greedy and asked for an increase on the initial offer. The HR was really good that she did everything to give me the offer I wanted. It was already on my hands. But I let it slip away because I was confused between my current company and this new one. To admit it, I want the best of both worlds. In the ended, I declined the job later to realize that deep in my heart, I love this job. I tried my best to recover what I have lost but the HR has offered it to the other candidate on her disappointment to me. I know it will be a miracle to the offer to come back to me. I am really really begging and praying that someday, sometime, the HR will call me again to offer the job to me. Please Lord, I am very desperate and depressed. I like this job because of the opportunities it will give me however, I considered the benefits my family receives from my current job. However, I don't have the interest in my current job anymore because I constantly think of my supposed to be new job. I keep on looking back and daydreaming of this new job. That all the people that said my husband has cut a road to nowhere they themselves will thank my husband over & over again & the new airport will be named Dr Lowell Lewis Airport, because it is his dream, his vision, so they will hang their heads in shame for what was said & done to him & let him live to see it & many more of his dreams & visions. Please pray that even the white people here on this island will favour him. That Mr. Sanford & more people like him with unlimited amount of money will hear about us visit our island start investing & donating to help rebuild back our volcanic-ravaged Island. In Jesus' precious name. Prayer that my daughter Amrew will find a job & a good God-fearing husband. God knows all the things I do need in my life I pray that what I was not able to ask for here, He the Lord will make it possible & it will happen in Jesus' precious name. HELP! HELP! HELP! I urgently need your prayers. I am seeing myself everyday as a self-destructive woman. I am married to one of the nicest men in the world, but I find myself cursing him & using very bad language, & evil four-letter words to him. Please pray for me for God to save my poor soul & my marriage before it's too late. My soul is crying for help. I do not want to go to hell I am a kind considerate person that was water baptized in Toronto. I came to the Island of Montserrat in the West Indies to live with my husband last year the 21st December 2007 & I have been so unhappy. First of all the house that I am living in is in an area that's near a ghaut. The area is run down. Compare to where I was living in Toronto Canada. I was living was a very beautiful area with well sculptured lawns, beautiful gardens & houses. My husband told me he is sorry about the location, & he wishes he can get me out of this place very soon but, he is in a lot of debts over $300,000.00. He drives an old car. If the windows are down when it is raining & we try to wind them up we have a hard time before they finally wind up. Sometimes the rain will start pouring inside the car & we get wet. He has to start & restart the car over & over again until the windows will eventually close. We do need the car for work, church etc., so we have to make the best out of it. My husband has a very kind heart & he will give to the poor & lend out money to people, that is when he had it. He has loaned money to a few people & he keeps on asking them to repay him, but no luck. I am speaking about thousands of dollars. I don't have a job & I find myself telling him everyday I want to return to Canada. I am miserable & because of my misery, I am making my husband depressed. A nice God fearing man. I am crying inside. What has happend to me since I came to the West Indies to live? I am a different person, I don't know myself any more. I am ashamed of myself. What is happening to me? What evil has taken over my mind & my body that I am inflicting such pain & sorrow upon another human being? A nice man, a praying man. A man I love & who tells me every day how much he loves me & wants to make me happy. Please pray for us for a financial windfall that someone will favor us & help us financially, a new home out of the ghaut, & into a nice neighborhod with beautiful lawns etc., even a nice look at the ocean, & a new car. Pls pray for me to find a great job, or the knowledge to find & open a business of our own, for total transformation & healing in my mind & body. That I would start loving instead of hating, for the Lord to cleanse this home & any other other home I am living in, with the blood of Jesus. To be a good God fearing kind beautful wife... most of all please pray for me for peace of mind. I NEED YOUR PRAYERS BADLY. My husband has been having a lot of trouble at his work place. He does not know what is going to happen after next week's L.E.G.C.O meeting. They want to turn things around, that they will eventually get rid of him after decisions by members of the opposition party. Please pray that God will intervene & help him. God sees & knows all, & I know God will do what is best for him. He has seen the sacrifices, trials, pains, efforts, sleepness restless nights, the anguishes & anxieties my husband has been going through & still is going through & I pray instead of them trying their best to demote him, God will open up a much higher & bigger position & promote him.
